What do we need?

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our growing team of professionals. Our Attorneys work in a nontraditional legal role supporting insurance claims denials. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills, understand complex insurance contracts, and be able to multitask, reprioritize, and manage a caseload of accounts.

What will you provide?

  • Appeal wrongfully denied and delayed insurance claims through the insurance carriers’ internal appeals process.
  • Review and utilize medical records and hospital coding requirements to appeal wrongfully denied claims.
  • Identify chronic payer issues and advise clients on potential remedies.
  • Utilize hospital contracts to confirm accuracy of claim payments and settlement agreements.
  • Submit appeals to Independent Review Organizations for external review.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant federal regulations and state statutes and their implication on the claims process.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of assigned clients.

Requirements 

  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, Microsoft Teams
  • Analytical skills and the ability to make appropriate decisions independently
  • Problem solver with the ability to identify issues, provide feedback and follow-up to resolution
  • Work independently in a rapidly changed and growth-oriented environment with regularly changing priorities
  • Prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner, adjusting quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Efficient at handling and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects in a time-sensitive environment
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of protected medical information and adherence to all HIPAA and Aspirion policies and regulations
  • Must possess interest in healthcare and medical insurance claims 
  • Desire to work for a corporation utilizing skills acquired in law school and/or through legal experience

Education and Experience

  • Juris Doctor required
  • State Bar Membership is preferred but not required

The US base pay range for this position is $55,000-$60,000 annually. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, training, licensure or certifications obtained. Market, location and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary, a competitive benefits package is offered.
