Senior Azure Data Lakehouse Engineer

Aspirion is seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Lakehouse Engineer to architect, design, build, deploy, and maintain our Data Lakehouse platform running on Microsoft Azure. This role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making by leveraging the latest tools and technologies, including Azure Data Fabric, Purview, Data Lake file formats, and Power BI. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional passionate about scalable, secure, and efficient data architecture, committed to fostering innovation, and collaborating across teams to deliver exceptional solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and Design: Develop comprehensive Azure-based Data Lakehouse architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency in data processing and storage.
  • Build and Deploy: Implement Data Lakehouse solutions using Azure services such as Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage. Deploy robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data ingestion.
  • Governance and Compliance: Integrate Microsoft Purview for effective data governance, metadata management, and compliance with security standards.
  • Data Integration: Optimize workflows and processes for integrating various file formats, including Delta Lake and Parquet, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Visualization and Analytics: Leverage Power BI to create intuitive and actionable dashboards, providing stakeholders with insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to ensure low-latency data retrieval and processing.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and developers, to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintenance and Support: Establish monitoring and alerting systems to maintain operational excellence and troubleshoot issues proactively.


Required Skills and Experience:

Technical Expertise:

   - Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Data Factory.

   -Proficiency in Lakehouse Data architectures and modern file formats such as Delta Lake and Parquet.

   -Hands on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Purview for governance and data lineage.

   -Strong knowledge of Power BI for dashboarding and data visualization.

Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark for data manipulation and transformation.

Architecture and Design: Proven track record in designing scalable and resilient Data Lakehouse solutions.

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Azure Data Lakehouse solutions.

The US base pay is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, training, licensure or certifications obtained. Market, location and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates may be eligible to receive a bonus tied to achieved results.
